About The Western Belize Region
We are captivated by the culture of Western Belize and its historic role as the former center of the Maya civilization. Our proximity to the great monuments of that time ensures a complete immersion into a way of life foreign from your own. We are able to offer a glimpse into a past that still influences the region’s present and is inspiration for experiences yet to come.
Belize is situated at the base of the Yucatan Peninsula in Central America and borders Mexico and Guatemala, with the Caribbean Sea to the east. Easily accessible from any major US gateway city, we are fortunate to benefit from excellent air access.

The Maya have a long history of traditions and beliefs using natural sources for food, medicine, clothing and ceremonies. These traditions are carried through to today, and we at Ka’ana are eager to ensure you get a true experience of these authentic traditions during your stay with us.
The Belize climate is subtropical, with a cooling breeze from the Caribbean Sea. Belize has an annual average temperature of 83 degrees Fahrenheit (27C). The rainy season is between August and October and is the most beautiful time of year, where the rainforests truly come to life and where the short mid-afternoon rain-showers serve to cool and refresh.
